Email Lists Are For Spammers

Sometimes that’s true, spammers put up a cute web site to gather up email addresses from subscribers to be used for disreputable reasons. Before they know it these unsuspecting folks have their inboxes filled with junk, porn links, and even email with attack code hidden in it to redirect their computer systems. Anyone with a computer knows there’s a huge business in the providing of software to ward off attacks.

But that isn’t what we here at Evangelism Training International are all about. We’re here to do God’s work which doesn’t include duping people. To begin with, spammers need millions of email addresses in order for their SPAM to work and make money for them. Our email list here at ETI wouldn’t be but a drop in the bucket size-wise. Second, we are computer users just like you are and we dislike SPAM as much as you do. Maybe more so considering how dealing with SPAM slows down our daily ministry activities. Third of all, we know that SPAM is an illegal act which means we wouldn’t be honoring God by participating in SPAM.

By the way, did you realize that SPAM really is an illegal act here in the United States? In 2003 there was a law passed named CAN-SPAM. This name stands for Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing. Quite a mouthful so it’s no wonder everyone calls it CAN-SPAM (and here you thought people were talking about famous meat products!) CAN-SPAM makes it very clear that one could be fined up to $6,000,000 for this now illegal act. One thing CAN-SPAM does for those wishing to legally send out bulk emails is to detail how legitimate emails should be constructed so as to not deceive the recipients. Without going into the technicalities of CAN-SPAM it declares that a legal email must have a subject line that is truthful, the return email address must be valid, the body of the email must state that the email is an advertisement, and there must be a way to have you email address removed from the list. Whew!

So why do we ask you to voluntarily join the ETI Email List? Several come to mind and here they are:

  • Prayer requests for mission trips and ETI evangelism training sessions.
  • Progress reports concerning one or more of our Project Countries.
  • Updates from our training team while they are conducting overseas and local training sessions.
  • Periodic updates on various fundraising events.

These are just a few but you can see that they all concern the advancement of our ministry.

What do we do with the information you provide to us? We protect it by not storing any information on our server that hosts our web site. The database is stored offline and then only used when we need to send out important emails. No one else has access to our email list! We don’t sell, trade, loan, or barter with our valuable email list. It is our list which we have built up over the years from faithful folks such as you. We would never dishonor your trust in us by doing anything with your information other than the items we mentioned above.

Thank you for your interest in joining our select email list. You can sign-up (opt-in) using the link below:
