God’s Plan For The Moringa Oleifera Plants

A Plant Leads ETI To The “Lost Boys”

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” (Proverbs16:9) “Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?” (Proverbs 20:24)
It was strange! It was weird! Through a series of events, the LORD introduced me to a plant called the Moringa Oleifera. Native only to Africa, India, and the Philippines, this plant has 7 times more potassium than bananas; 4 times more vitamin C than oranges, 3 times more calcium than milk; 3 times more Vitamin A than Spinach, and contains all of the essential amino acids that the human body needs. Commonly known as the “miracle tree,” the plant is drought resistant, yet it grows 12 feet the first year. If that weren’t enough, ancients of old have known that when the seeds are crushed, not only do they produce a very healing oil, but they actually purify contaminated water. For some reason, the LORD led me to purchase some seeds over six months ago, I planted them, and ended up having many little Moringa trees; still wondering why I had planted them. It was then that the LORD led me to a man who was one of the Lost Boys from Southern Sudan. This man, when he was a child, was one of 30,000 children who fled on foot from Muslim rebels, and walked over 1,000 miles. As he walked with thousands of these other children, many of these kids died from starvation, from thirst, from lions, from disease, from drowning, from being shot, etc. Out of the 30,000 children that started the journey, only 12,000 survived. He, and his now wife, were two of the survivors. It turns out this man ended up being exiled to America and now is getting his doctorate at the University of Florida in nutritional biology. The LORD prompted me to ask him if he ever heard of the Moringa tree awhen we first met, and he said no. As I began to tell him about it, his countenance visibly changed with great excitement. To make a long story short, the LORD strategically put us together, and now we are making plans to go to Southern Sudan and train many pastors. In the meantime, we have given numerous plants to Jacob and his wife Linda. They also have planted many seeds in Southern Sudan when they went back in December. Jacob is also consider doing his doctoral thesis on this amazing plant. I just received this email from Jacob and thought it would greatly encourage you:   Dear Pastor David Hook, Greeting in the name of Jesus Christ our savior and our King. I am writing this email to introduce you to one of my best friend and a brother in Christ, pastor Matthew Madit Riak. Pastor Riak is also one of the Lost Boys of Sudan and we resided together in Michigan. God has called Pastor Matthew to return to South Sudan and establish the St. Luke Seminar School in our state of Jonglei. A couple weeks ago, pastor Riak came from South Sudan and he is now traveling across the U.S. to give speeches about what the lord has put in his heart regarding establishing the Christian college. Soon, I would like three of us to have telephone conference. Also, here is Mathew telephone number if you get a chance to catch up with him: 616-745-0869. I had shared the vision that you have to come and teach the pastors about the word of God and the good news of Jesus Christ! Pastor Matthew, please allow me to introduce my good friend Pastor David Hook. Pastor David and I meet in December before we left to South Sudan. Pastor Hook has a passion to come and teach the pastors and the pastors can go and teach the community about the good news of Jesus Christ. Pastor David and Pastor Malvon from South Africa would like to come soon to South Sudan and train the pastors. As I have discussed with you earlier, these pastors (David and Malvon) God has choose to come to South Sudan. Again, I am looking forward to talk to you guys soon. — God Bless, Jacob Atem, MPH President, SSHCO PhD Student Health Services Research, Management, and Policy University of Florida
